What is CISA?

CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) is an ISACA professional certification designed for professionals working in information systems auditing, control, assurance, and information security.

The CISA examination currently consists of 150 multiple-choice questions with a 4-hour examination duration. The exam measures practical knowledge and the application of concepts and standards in real-world situations.

CISA Examination Format

Number of Questions: 150 multiple-choice questions

Exam Duration: 4 hours / 240 minutes

Question Format: Multiple-choice

Exam Delivery: Authorized PSI testing centers or remotely proctored examination, subject to ISACA and PSI requirements.

CISA registration is available on a continuous basis. After registration and payment, candidates have a six-month eligibility period to take the examination.

CISA Exam Fee

The CISA examination fee is separate from the ITEXAM.MY.ID training fee.

Current ISACA exam registration fees are:

These fees are set by ISACA and are separate from the Rp1.750.000 ITEXAM.MY.ID training fee. Exam registration fees are currently non-refundable and non-transferable.

Important: Exam fees are subject to change by ISACA. Candidates should verify the current fee directly with ISACA before registration.

CISA Certification Requirements

There is an important distinction between taking the CISA examination and obtaining the CISA certification.

Candidates can prepare for and take the examination, but to obtain the full CISA certification, ISACA currently requires:

• Passing the CISA examination
• A minimum of five years of professional experience in information systems auditing, control, assurance, or security
• Experience waivers may be available for a maximum of three years, subject to ISACA requirements
• Certification application must be submitted within the applicable ISACA timeframe after passing the examination

ISACA states that candidates must pass the CISA exam within five years before applying for certification.

Candidates who do not yet meet the experience requirement may still take the examination and subsequently work toward meeting the certification experience requirement.

How to Register for the CISA Exam

CISA examination registration is completed through the ISACA platform.

Step 1 — Create or Access Your MyISACA Account

Candidates need to log in to or create a MyISACA account.

The candidate's name should match the government-issued identification that will be used on examination day.

Step 2 — Select CISA Examination

Select the CISA examination and complete the registration process.

Step 3 — Pay the Examination Fee

Pay the applicable ISACA examination registration fee according to membership status.

Step 4 — Receive Registration Confirmation

After registration and payment, ISACA provides the information required to schedule the examination.

Step 5 — Schedule the Examination

The examination appointment can be scheduled through the PSI scheduling system.

Candidates may choose an available authorized testing center or an eligible remote-proctored examination option.
